Nuwakot Post-Flood School Recovery Programme announced

Water, learning materials, wellbeing and preparedness for 4,983 children across ten schools in Bidur Municipality, Nuwakot.

On 26 August 2026 (Bhadra 10, 2083) Bhotekoshi–Trishuli flash flood, a flash flood came down the Bhotekoshi and the Trishuli. Ten schools in Bidur Municipality, Nuwakot were left without a safe supply of drinking water.

New Vision Nepal has begun a 12-month programme across all ten, reaching 4,983 students and more than 100 teachers. It has four components: water, sanitation and hygiene; educational stationery; yoga and meditation wellbeing sessions; and disaster preparedness.

The budget is NPR 5,305,000, of which 85.77% goes to programmes and 14.23% to administration. The ten schools, with their wards and rolls, are listed in full on the programme page.

This is the organisation’s first water, sanitation and hygiene work. We make no claim to earlier WASH delivery.

The funding partner is still being confirmed and is deliberately not named here until it is.
