How the work is done
A plant a village can keep working
Installing clean water in a school is the straightforward half. What decides whether it is still running in five years is who understands it — so that is where the work goes.
Two
The children are taught it
Safe-water access, hand-washing, and how water-borne disease actually travels — taught to the schoolchildren themselves, not only to the staff. They are the ones who will still be there.

The people who decide are in the room
Teachers, the school, and Bidur Municipality are part of the work as it happens, rather than told about it afterwards.

Then we are not needed
The benefit outlasts the visit, held by the people who live there. That is the aim, and it is why the teaching matters as much as the plumbing.
This is the approach of the 2026 Nuwakot programme. It is new work: we make no claim to earlier water, sanitation and hygiene delivery.
One story
Fifty-five women, working nights
In 2023 New Vision Nepal ran a free basic beautician course for fifty-five young women who work night shifts in Kathmandu — a qualification, and a way out of a job that had no ladder in it.
It was run with the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens, Kathmandu Metropolitan City and the Social Development Department at Babarmahal. Twenty-one participants were Brahmin or Chhetri, twenty-two Janajati and twelve Dalit. The training was delivered by five instructors over roughly ten weeks.

What does New Vision Nepal do?
New Vision Nepal is a volunteer-powered Kathmandu NGO, registered since 2011, bringing clean water, learning materials and wellbeing to children in the communities that need it most. Our work runs in four areas: water, education, wellbeing and community.
Is New Vision Nepal a registered organisation?
Yes. It is registered with the District Administration Office, Kathmandu under Reg. No. 469, dated 2068/06/25 BS (12 October 2011), and affiliated to the Social Welfare Council under No. 33543. Its PAN is 600353982 and it is an income-tax-exempt organisation.
Where does my donation go?
85.77% goes to programmes and 14.23% to administration, on the 2026 Nuwakot budget. Administration buys field supervision, Social Welfare Council monitoring and reporting. The accounts are audited and the turnover for the last two years is published on the Transparency page.
Can I invite New Vision Nepal to my school or institution?
Yes, and it is free. Any school, children’s home, elderly home, centre or institution in Nepal may ask for a wellbeing session. There is no charge and no obligation of any kind.
